GLOSSARY OF TERMS:

 

Users:

Contains those users who can edit and make changes to the website.


Pages:

Allows you to create new pages/headings and delete existing ones. 


Menu:

This section allows you to add sub-pages to existing page headings.


Assets:

Image Files and Documents that are used in the site.  Formats include: gif, jpg, png, bmp, pdf, doc, xls, ppt, zip


Settings:

The Settings section allows you to edit various setting/functions within your website.  This includes website fonts, primary and background colors, contact information, etc...

Element:

An element is considered a place on the page where your heading, text, images, or videos are placed.


MetaTags:

Meta elements, or Meta Tags, provide information about a given Web page, most often to help search engines categorize them correctly (SEO). They are inserted into the HTML document, but are often not directly visible to a user visiting the site.  Entered like: data 1, data 2, data 3, data 4....

 

Tracking Scripts:

Tracking scripts are useful and extremely common. You can add as many of them as you want onto a web page. The most common tracking script is Google Analytics, which shows usage patterns to a site’s owner which can be used to broadcast how many people use your site and some characteristics about them. When you add a tracking script to your site, you are adding an additional script to your pages that will follow the same blocking rules as any script. This can be dangerous, because someone else’s server is hosting that script and if your servers are working fine, but something is wrong with their servers, it can affect page loads on your site.
